Compton Vegan

Compton Vegan the Pop Up, Caterer, and Commercial Kitchen—exceptionally personifies Vegan African American Food. The lineup—a selection of Succulent, and Sweet choices, consists of Fried Chik’N, Shrimp, Gumbo (All Seitan based), Ribz (Jackfruit Based), Waffles, Mac and Cheeze, Baked Beans, Cornbread, Fries and Collard Greens. All of the components are designed and executed by Chef, and Compton Native—Lemel Durrah. This menu screams warmth, and flavor, and the savory intricacies layered throughout the housemade sauce makes it that much more tempting.

This is the only Black Owned, Vegan Restaurant home to Compton, California (that I know of), where the owner, or one of his team will deliver right to your front door if you live within the regions of Compton, or South LA. If you are a resident outside of those parameters, don’t trip, Durrah’s establishment is also recognized on the Doordash, and GrubHub delivery platforms. This business fits in perfectly with the lineup of other Black Owned, Plant Based/Vegan Friendly restaurants located throughout South Central LA (Ackee Bamboo, Stuff I Eat, Juice C Juice, South Central Health Pioneer Simply Wholesome), and yet stands on its own in an intangible way.

I love to support black businesses, of exceptional quality, so if you are interested in this establishment I highly recommend that you follow the Compton Vegan IG page, where posts are made regularly about the delivery hours for Compton and South LA, the business hours for Mr. Durrah’s Santa Monica location, and Mr. Durrah’s latest business ventures.

No, I am not a Vegan, I just appreciate a wide spectrum of nutrient Dense, Quality Foods, including Plant Based/Vegan Dishes; and Yes—I can tell when something tastes good (cause people swear vegetarian/vegan food is only for rabbits, or flat out nasty).
